Comments: New Zealand-born Herbert Kemble was a painter and illustrator. He served at Gallipoli in WWI and came to Sydney after the war (1920). From 1941 he worked as a newspaper and magazine illustrator and exhibited his paintings in the Archibald, Wynne, Sulman and Blake Prize exhibitions. From 1952 he was a committee member of the Contemporary Art Society.
