Literature:

Benjamin Duterrau and his lost painting The National Picture form the subject of Stephen Scheding's book The National Picture (Random House, 2002). Trugernana appears in Duterrau's painting The Conciliation (Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery) which was a study for the larger National Picture. An oil portrait of her by Duterrau, also in the TMAG, is reproduced in the book. The etchings of Tasmanian Aboriginal subjects published by Duterrau are extremely rare.
