This view of Circular Quay, Sydney Cove was made during the Laplace voyage. It shows Fort Macquarie at the left, the present site of the Sydney Opera House, and the view may be drawn from Pinchgut. The French moored in Port Jackson during August and September 1831.

An exceptionally rare early Sydney view.

A copy of the print is in the NLA and another is Illustrated in Sydney Views 1788-1888 from the Beat Knoblauch collection as plate 58.. However, few copies appear to exist outside the publication in which it first appeared.
